Catching up...

So, it's been several months since I posted any pictures or updated on here. I thought it was high time! We've had three big birthdays:

 

 

June turned three in September, a birthday she waited and waited for patiently, since she knew when she finally turned three she would get to do gymnastics, like Holly! What rejoicing there has been that they get to do gymnastics together. They are both very good and love getting to take it at the same time.
Holly turned seven in February!

 She got to have a pancake panjama party with some good friends.

And last but not least, little Noah turned one last week! Don't ask me how he is already a year. He is walking and starting to talk. He says "Dah Dah!" a lot and is starting to say "Ho-dee" a lot (for Holly). Here is the big birthday boy:

We had fun celebrating his first year of life with family and he enjoyed his first bite of real cake. Last week he had his first ice cream cone and he was so proud, walking around showing it off to everyone he met!

Noah

Noah Luke Peabody was born 3/30/2012. 9 lb 15 oz.

He is now just about 4 months old and I'm just now posting these pictures on here. Guess we've been busy around here! He is well-loved by his big sisters and Allen and I are quite fond of him, too. He epitomizes "laid-back." Holly asked me the other day if we were going to have triplets next! Ha! I guess she's not tired of having a baby around yet. :)

Holly is Six!

 It's hard to believe Holly is a six year old. She had a fun breakfast date in the morning just with Daddy to a neat little restaurant called Loveless Cafe (if you live in Nashville it needs no introduction). They have great food and the best biscuits in the world.

Then over the weekend we had a special girls outing to the movies (minus June). So thankful for this girl!! Happy Birthday Holly Bear!

Christmas and Nashville

Well, our Christmas this year was a bit unusual. We moved to Nashvillle, then flew down to Miami to go on a cruise with my family. But, as we all know, this did not work out so we ended up at Disney World. I would love to say I handled the whole affair with poise and grace, but I can't. Thankfully, Allen held it together for us and came up with a great backup plan: Disney World! By the time we settled into our hotel room that night I had calmed down for the most part, but by the next day we were all excited to hit Disney World.

One very nice treat that came out of the cruise fiasco was that we got to spend Christmas with Allen's grandma. The girls were really excited, and Holly even learned how to knit using a knitting spool. Grandma is quite an inspiration when it comes to all things craft-related.

 This is the view from our little villa we stayed in outside of Disney. It was such a serene, beautiful setting, and it had a beautiful pool within walking distance.

Overall, I think we definitely made the best of things, even though it was a bit stressful. I have to say both girls handled everything really well, which was a blessing.

We  have been here about a month now and have unpacked for the most part. This is my first time really decorating a house, so I'm having fun with that! Although I do feel a crunch to get lots of things done before the baby comes because I know any progress will be put on hold for a while once a newborn arrives. Plus, I feel a little inept at it...but maybe it will just take practice? My mom painted our bedroom and I've made some curtains but there is lots more to do! It's wonderful to be near grandparents and this setting is really peaceful. It is so vastly different from our neighborhood in Atlanta....it still sort of feels like we are just visiting! Oh, and I forgot to mention my favorite aspect of the house: I have a little sewing nook! I will post pictures of the house once I take some with this camera!

35 Days, But Who's Counting?

So, after 4 years of medical school and 2.9 years of residency we can finally count the days to the finish line in days and weeks! I am so excited and am so looking forward to having my husband back!!
I am fairly used to doing weekends with the kids alone and braving social gatherings alone, and we usually plan fun things to keep us busy. But after a couple of months of two easy rotations where Al was home a lot and had most weekends off I'm having a hard time readjusting!
Yesterday after the kids woke up at 5:45 for the 6th day in a row I thought I just might send the kids to any available neighbors house who didn't have a shady van parked out front :) You'll be relieved to know we opted for Target and the park and Starbucks for me. :) But speaking of shady vans I have to share my lamest lie yet to the kids. A really sketchy looking ice cream truck sang down our street the other day while we were playing outside. Holly goes, "mom, is that an ice cream truck?" I couldn't think so I told her it was a taxi! She did actually believe me, but said, "wow, it's so weird there are pictures of ice cream all over it!" My poor girls. Deprived of their chance for sketchy ice cream!

Fallishness

Well, I'm finally blogging on after oh, 3 months. We watch Wheel of Fortune pretty much every night. We think Holly really likes seeing if they win the car or the trip at the end because she can't quite get the puzzles yet. At the end of the show, they often promote things by saying, "So, log on to our website and you could win...blah, blah, blah." Well, one day Holly jumped up and cried, "Come on! We need to blog on right now!!" So, now we "blog on" around here.

We are loving the fall weather and I really have no idea where the month of October went. Allen has about 6 weeks left of residency, praise the LORD, Hallelujah!! The last two months are pretty long hours but it helps so much to know the end is in sight!! And we are so thankful to have a beautiful house to move into, thanks to my parents, who have hung on to their rental house in Nashville so we could move into it when we move back. It's about 20 minutes from downtown but it feels like you are out in the countryside...lots of open fields and horses and such.

Of course, I am going to miss my Atlanta friends hugely. I'm trying not to think about it too much, just hoping they are up for some road trips to Nashville. :) Here are some pictures of Halloween with these fun friends:

Okay, I need to go let my kids back inside. I told them if they stayed outside and played for 15 minutes they could have a piece of candy. It's amazing what feats candy will inspire!
