Joseph's Birthday

We decided to commemorate Joseph's birthday by going to visit some of his favorite places and by sending balloons "up to heaven." Holly got very excited about this idea and it seemed like a good idea to us, too. We decorated them and wrote on them and brought them to Lenox Park, the park we frequented most when we lived here before. We were so blessed that we could walk to this park and it offered a beautiful peaceful escape, but it also had ducks and dogs and big hills for Joseph and Holly to enjoy.
In the morning, Holly and I made cupcakes with lots of sprinkles:

After this park we moved on to the airport park, another great park near us where you could play on the playground and watch planes land and take off. It was definitely a favorite of Joseph's and we have some great memories there, too. They have a nice little burger restaurant, so we had dinner there and Holly enjoyed spotting planes taking off.

Thank you for all the calls and emails to let us know you were thinking of us and Joseph. Also, thank you for sending up balloons of your own. Holly loved looking at those pictures. If you haven't emailed them to me, would you email them so we can print them out?
